General affairs of trainees and residents

Social Care Officer (SCO) mainly handles the general affairs of trainees and residents in St. Nicholas’ Home. Their responsibilities cover 4 major scopes: resident or trainee intakes, handling hospitals/welfare department referral cases, conducting roadshows and liaison party with Social Welfare Department (JKM).

SCO will process new intake or admission of residents and trainees. These intakes are for Taska (1-6 years old), Early Intervention Program (1-6 years old), Vocational Training Education (18 years and above) and Senior Citizens (60 years old and above).

All referrals either through the State/District Social Welfare Departments, Government/Private Hospitals, Non-Governmental or Non-Profit Organizations, Clinics and Medical Units, or by village headmen and individuals will be assessed by our SCO.

SCO conducts various roadshows nationwide to create awareness of services and training offered in St. Nicholas’ Home.

SCO acts as a liaison counterpart between residents/trainees and branch welfare department. Any welfare matters such as allowance assistance scheme is administered by our SCO.
