Social Care Officer (SCO) mainly handles the general affairs of trainees and residents in St Nicholas Home. It’s responsibilities cover 4 major scopes which include resident or trainee intakes, handling hospitals/welfare department referral cases, conducting roadshows and liaison party with Social Welfare Department (JKM)
SCO will process new intake/admission of residents/trainees. These intakes are for Taska (1-6 years old), Early Intervention Program (1-6 years old), Vocational Training Education (18 years and above) and senior citizen (60 years and above) applicants who meet the criteria.
Hospital/Welfare department referrals
All referrals either through the State / District Social Welfare Departments, Government / Private Hospitals, NGO Organizations, Clinics, and Village Headmen, or by Individuals will be assessed by SCO. Home visit will be conducted based on case by case in which any relevant therapy or rehabilitation recommendation(s) suggested based on appropriate condition of the patient.
SCO conducts various roadshows nationwide to create awareness of services and training offered in St Nicholas Home.
Social Welfare Department (JKM) relationship
SCO acts as a liaison counterpart between residents/trainees and branch welfare department. Any welfare matters such as allowance assistance scheme is administered by SCO.
Assist TSS Manager on social activities and project as required. Prepare, maintain reports by assessing and reporting on their needs and administer documents and records relating to SCO scope.
