Care package Giving supported blind and visually impaired of SBM

8 June 2021 – Staff members from the Social Care and RD (Resource Department) of St. Nicholas’ Home, Penang visited the Society of the Blind Penang (SBM) located at Bukit Mertajam to distribute care packages to their members (some of whom are former trainees of St. Nicholas’ Home, Penang) as an effort to assist BVIs (Blind and Visually Impaired) who are in need. Former trainees of St. Nicholas’ Home, Penang who are owners of massage businesses or working as masseurs are also affected by the pandemic as no one wants to go for massage services. St. Nicholas’ Home, Penang supplied them with basic daily necessities such as rice, cooking oil, and other non-perishable food items. The members from SBM were glad to receive the items, and our staff members felt rewarded as they did their part in helping the blind community in Penang. St. Nicholas’ Home, Penang’s mission is to aid the blind community in the country. Due to COVID-19, we are only able to serve the community in Penang this year. We are praying for the country to get over the pandemic so that we are able to again offer our assistance nationally.
