JCI United Penang Visit SNH

Junior Chamber International (JCI) United Penang organized an event named Xchange – Extend Clothing Lifespan had successfully raise total of RM2, 000 fund for St. Nicholas’ Home, Penang. On 12 December 2020, JCI United Penang paid a visit to SNH and held a mock cheque presentation ceremony at the SNH front office.

JCI aim to create a positive impact to the communities, and the purpose of this event not only showing care to the blind and visually impaired (BVI) people, but also to raise awareness of “zero waste” as well as promoting the habits of reduction, reuse, and recycling from the society.

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic and CMCO implemented by Malaysia government, Facebook Live has become the backup plan for JCI to run the Xchange charity event. Start from September 2020, JCI conducted total three (3) sessions of Xchange – Extend Clothing Lifespan, one located at SNH Tunku Hall, and another two goes virtual. JCI collect second-hand clothes and bags from the public, and selling them at Facebook Live start from only RM5 each.

On behalf of St Nicholas’ Home, I would like to thank JCI United Penang for the visit and take the initiative to organize a fundraising event for SNH!
