Basketry Courses
3 levels of basketry courses available:
Level 1: To enhance their manual dexterity skill, while learning the fundamental of basket-weaving. 3-month course.
Level 2: To produce rattan baskets of various sizes and shapes, including fruit baskets, rattan dustbin, handbags, laundry basket etc. 4-month course.
Level 3: Adding in aesthetic and creative elements, including colours and unique shapes. 3-month advanced course.
There is also a basket shop in St. Nicholas’ Home, open for public to visit and purchase. We also bring students’ work to different spots for selling, including Wellings No.5, Penang Pesta and churches. Meanwhile, we cater to custom-made orders for company events.
St Nicholas’ Home, Penang is a non-profit charitable organization, which aims to respond to the evolving needs of blind and visually impaired (BVI) community in Malaysia, irrespective of their religion, race and background.
