Project Description
Better lives for children
Our Early Intervention Programme (EIP) currently covers 6 children from northern region of Malaysia, including Penang, Kedah, Perlis and northern areas of Perak. Our teachers travel to their home to conduct lessons and monitor their progression every month.
The training under EIP covers development of daily-life skills, thinking skills, braille-reading, light sports and more. Home-based training is important for young children to enable them to learn in an environment in which they feel safe and secured.
Children who graduated from EIP are prepared to progress to the next stage of their lives, which is enrollment in school.
St Nicholas’ Home, Penang is a non-profit charitable organization, which aims to respond to the evolving needs of blind and visually impaired (BVI) community in Malaysia, irrespective of their religion, race and background.
