St. Nicholas’ Home Food Carnival 2022
24 September 2022 – The Home’s food carnival has always been one of our key components in our annual fundraising strategy. We feel very blessed to finally be able to organise our food carnival again after years of inactivity due to the pandemic. The event was officially started by the Penang CM’s representative YB Chris Lee, Parliament member Bukit Bendera YB Wong Hon Wai, the Home’s Chairman Suffragan Bishop Dr. Stephen Soe, Board Member Archdeacon Soong Hoe Pin, General Manager Ms. Carmen Chew at 9.45 a.m. The honorable guests were escorted to every food stalls. There were almost 60 stalls sponsored by kind stall owners, sponsors and churches.
The event’s mood was liven up by several mesmerizing performances. Our massage trainees, Firdaus and Jonathin, performed a few Malay ballads. Another visually impaired street performer, Robert Maidin (Ex-Nicholites) was crooning some sentimental English oldies and played some guitar instrumental music. Indeed it was an awesome time with awesome food.
Thank you to all our friends and supporters for making our food carnival a success. We’re extremely grateful and happy to see more than a thousand of you at the food carnival. Despite the rain and mud in the morning, the love shown by everyone towards us were obvious.
